3-Week Update

Miia is now 3 weeks old. It's so hard to believe how quickly the time goes when all I do is feed her and try to fit in chores while she sleeps. This past weekend Miia visited her grandparent's house for the first time. We spent the day there and she slept a lot, which made visiting with them much easier. Her grandpa Jim held her for the first time:

On Sunday, we took a journey to the bay area to visit my family. She slept the whole way there and back (90 minute drive one way). The fact that she does well in the car makes me feel better about driving to LA in the near future to visit friends. Nearly everyone was at my aunt Raija's house, so they all got to meet Miia.

Jason is back in the office this week, so it's been hard, but on most days I found a small window of time to shower and eat. There isn't time for much else. Monday we went to visit my mom so that broke up the day some. On Thursday Miia had her 2 week check-up and Jason worked from home so he could go with us. She now weighs 8 lbs 13 oz, so she gained a lb in 2 weeks. I guess I don't have to worry about her not eating enough anymore!

That night we did another photo shoot, but Miia wasn't much better at cooperating. She was asleep for a couple of minutes when we arrived so we got a couple of shots with her sleeping but she woke herself up when she pooped and peed on the white rug. Unfortunately for Jason she did it again on his lap, so his shirt and pants came away with some stinky remnants. Despite her fussiness during the shoot, we did get some good family photos.

Friday my mom came over and I was able to get some stuff done around the house while she held her and changed many diapers. That night Miia attended a birthday dinner with me at my friend Judy's house. She met some friends there, including Benjamin, a 1-1/2 year old who was so taken with Miia. After he learned he could say her name, he called everyone Miia for the rest of the night. She did really well with being passed around from person to person so I hope she is always comfortable with others.
